Shompole Conservancy

Shompole Conservancy is a private operated conservation area at the bottom of the Great Rift Valley on the Nguruman escarpment, Kenya. It is located between Lake Magadi to the north and Lake Natron to the South, the two Lakes are Alkaline. Wildlife is abundant in the rarely visited conservancy in Kenya. During the game drive or nature walk you'll come across residents Cheetah, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Gazelles, elusive leopard if lucky, lions and elephant. Over 350 bird species have been recorded in the ecosystem making it a bird lover's haven. Lake Natron is a breeding ground for beautiful lesser and greater Flamingos. Lake Magadi also attract flamingos to feed on the algae that grow on the alkaline lake shore making it attractive with the pink paintings of the birds.
