Kigio Conservancy is located
near Gilgil weigh bridge between Lake Nakuru National Park and Lake Naivasha.
The 3,300 Acres leleshwa shrub conservancy is a bird haven with over 250
species. The wildlife include Elands, Endangered Rothschild Giraffe, Thomson
Gazelles, Grant Gazelles, Impalas, Buffaloes, Common Zebras, Hyena and elusive
leopard.
There is
accommodation available at Malewa Wildlife lodge and Kigio Wildlife Camp which
are designed in African traditional style and built with local materials to
blend with the surrounding therefore an Eco Friendly properties.
The
close proximity of the Camp and the lodge to Malewa river provide guest with an
opportunity to meet unique visitors - The hippos. The euphoria shrubs and short
grass makes it easy to spot wildlife from a distance.
Kigio
conservancy have been recognized internationally by Tusk Trust, Lewa Wildlife
Conservancy, Born Free and also other donors who help protect the conservancy.
