3 Days 2 Nights Samburu Sopa Lodge

Samburu National Reserve lies in the Northern part of Kenya on a semi rugged desert with the doum Palm groves. Situated alongside the Ewaso Nyiro River, there is plenty to attract wildlife from the surrounding Savannah plains. There are over 50 species of wild animals and 350 species of birds in the reserve including unique species of special five: Gravy Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, Oryx Besia, Gerenuk, Blue necked Somali ostrich, the three cat’s lion, cheatah, leopard, pancake tortoise and others like Greater and Lesser Kudu.
Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu
Depart Nairobi for Samburu National reserve driving through central Kenya region to the semi-arid northern Kenya. Due to the dry climate, grasses are sparse, making animals easier to spot. Meanwhile, the Ewaso Ng’iro River, which borders the reserve, provides a year-round water supply. These two factors make for a great game-viewing experience. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drives where you have the chance to see rare animals you will not see in other parts of the world. “Special 5,” this includes Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Oryx Beisa, and the gerenuk, a long-necked antelope that feeds while standing on its hind feet. Dinner and overnight
DAY 2: Samburu
Full day explore of Samburu reserve. Large numbers of elephant and Nile crocodile can be seen, as well as waterbuck, Kirk’s dik-dik, and Grant’s gazelle. Where there is prey, predators can be found, so lion, cheetah, and leopard are often spotted. The reserve is also a great place for bird watching, with over 300 species. During your afternoon game drive, you can also opt to visit the Samburu village and learn the Samburu community way of life. Dinner and Overnight
Day 3: Samburu – Nairobi
